Any Application that creates files that are not too large (Word Processing, Spreadsheets, etc.) can be synced to any other device using a service like Dropbox. These Apps may be updated to allow iCloud to hold the database, but at the moment both developers recommend Dropbox as the best cloud data service for their applications.ģ. Apps Like 1Password and TextExpander are a couple of examples of these types of Application. Im guessing there a various ways a developer can do this. For a game to sync actual gameplay progress from one device across to others, I think this needs to be programmed in seperately by the developer. These Apps allow you to keep their database in the 'Cloud' so that it can be accessed by multiple devices. If a universal game is configured to sync with Game Center, then your statistical progress is stored universally. Built in database support to share the Application database in the 'Cloud'. At the bottom of the pane, click the Add button, click Add Other Account on the right, then scroll down and click Game Center account (you may need to sign in with your Apple ID ). If a Game Center account isn’t shown in the sidebar, you can add it.
Mac game store across multiple devices update#
We are still waiting for Apple to update it's iWork suite to work with iCloud.Ģ. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Internet Accounts. Any document saved with iCloud will automatically be uploaded to Apple's cloud service and then back down to any other Mac or iOS device running the same software and linked to the same iCloud account. The Text editor iA Writer is one of the first Apps to use iCloud document syncing. These Apps will allow you to save your documents directly into Apple's new iCloud's document service. Built in document sync support using iCloud.

I think you can probably break Mac Apps down into 3 groups for Syncing.ġ.
